The first AKDW Karate Camp was held in August 1976, the Bicentennial Year of the United States. To commemorate the first camp, which coincided with the Bicentennial celebration, the patch utilized the Bicentennial symbol. This patch is worn on the right side of the uniform and is only worn by those who attended the first camp.
